Responsibilities

KyCPE is looking for an Information Technology leader to guide the use of technology to communicate with and support our clients, support marketing efforts, and to facilitate ongoing KyCPE operations.  As an organization that spans the commonwealth, KyCPE relies on information technology in pursuit of its’ mission of helping Kentucky organizations pursue performance excellence.

The Information Technology leader will sit on the Board of Directors and be responsible for leading the Technology Committee, which has overall responsibilities for establishing and overseeing all things related to technology utilization.

Skill Areas

  • Website development and operations

  • Remote meeting technology

  • Data Repository management

 

The Technology Leader will also lead the Technology Committee, which will meet at least monthly to plan and oversee technology related practices and processes.

Optional Skills

Prior experience serving on an advisory board or Board of Directors is a plus. Board governance, business ethics, fiduciary accountability, and servant leadership are all favorable traits. Although not required initially, knowledge of the Baldrige framework and program foundations is helpful. This, and other skills can be learned while in service on the Board.

 

Who we are:  KyCPE is a Kentucky non-profit that is dedicated to helping Kentucky organizations improve performance. We do this by leveraging the internationally recognized and proven Malcolm Baldrige Framework for Performance Excellence. The framework, is supported by the US National Institute of Standards and Baldrige Foundation.

 

Board Position Summary: 

Board Members provide the strategic leadership and governance required to assure that KyCPE delivers meaningful and sustained value to Kentucky organizations in their pursuit of performance excellence.

Board Members are expected to attend monthly board meetings and possibly leading a standing committee that is focused on a specific area of service delivery or support operations. Most committee meetings are conducted remotely, not requiring in-person attendance. Board members are also called on as individuals to engage prospective partners, sponsors, members, donors, applicants and/or examiners as needed to grow KyCPE services. Board members are also asked to join as a Professional Member for an annual fee of $125.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Stay informed about the organization’s mission, services, policies and programs.

  • Attend and actively participate in Board Meetings. Review agendas and committee reports prior to meetings with a view to act on any and all action requests and issues.

  • Approve the KyCPE annual budget, audit reports, financial statements and other material business decisions

  • Actively participate in the board’s annual evaluation and strategic planning efforts.

  • Be informed of, and meet all, legal and fiduciary responsibilities. Follow conflict of interest and confidentiality policies

  • Represent KyCPE to stakeholders; act as an ambassador for the organization

  • Assist in the recruitment of volunteers and committee members to augment the Board

Board Terms & Reporting Relationships

  • KyCPE Board Members are appointed for a three-year term and are eligible for re-appointment for two additional terms

  • Board members report to the President of the Board of Directors.

Time Requirement

  • Board Members are required to devote a minimum of 8 hours per month to KyCPE in the fulfillment of Board Roles and Responsibilities
