Membership

The mission of the Kentucky Center for Performance Excellence is to offer education, recognize significant achievements, and share the winning strategies and best practices among all organizations. The mission includes communicating the Malcolm Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence to all organizations across Kentucky, helping them to understand and apply the criteria, promoting the sharing of best practices, and providing recognition for organizations who set an example of success. The purpose is not to give an award, but rather to provide a service to organizations - large and small; to provide a framework for the continuous improvement of the quality of Kentucky's goods and services.

Our vision is for all Kentucky organizations to be recognized for world-class performance. The benefits to Kentucky and its economy will be increased prestige and credibility plus gained market share along with the obvious quality and reliability improvements inherent in applying the principals contained in the Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence.

Because of the learning inherent in completing an application for the KYCPE award and in the feedback report an organization receives from KYCPE, the effort that goes into the self-assessment and applying for the Award traditionally results in a significant return on the organization’s investment. The process will help to prioritize opportunities for improvement and identify strengths to celebrate and build upon.

As a result, the rate at which the organization improves should accelerate. Each applicant gains an outside perspective of its organization based on hours of review by members of the Board of Examiners and the Panel of Judges. The results of this review are synthesized in a feedback report outlining strengths and opportunities for improvement based on the Baldrige Criteria. Feedback reports are often used by organizations as part of their strategic planning process to focus on their customers, strategies, and to improve results. Traditionally the process helps to energize and guide their organizational improvement effort.

Membership with the Kentucky Center for Performance Excellence (KYCPE) states firmly your organization's commitment to the concepts of quality   and continuous improvement. Your membership provides to your organization the framework for improvement and the opportunity for all Kentucky organizations to advance toward and achieve performance excellence.

Benefits as a Member of KYCPE

Corporate Membership includes complimentary, or at a reduced rate, attendance at the annual banquet and training conferences. At the annual banquet a best practices session will be held in which winners of the national Baldrige award and/or state awards will meet to discuss winning strategies. Sharing of knowledge from top business experts who have worked and succeeded in environments very similar to yours will offer direction to your organization for strategic planning activities and continuous improvements. Your organization will have access to the best practices database which consists of winning applications from both state and national
award winners.

Being a member gives you the chance to benchmark your organization with other organizations in similar areas, industries or circumstances. During the annual banquet and training conference your organization can network with other professionals in your industry while exploring the extensive opportunities for education and learning through KYCPE partners and associates.

Membership also includes the use of the KYCPE logo in your advertising and correspondence showing your organizational leadership and social responsibility through support of your community. Members also receive a web-link or website listing on the KYCPE website. Having a website is no longer enough, servers seek websites that are linked to ensure value added services are being offered.

Average is no longer good enough. Mediocre does not work any more. Adequate just doesn't cut it. Today's environment demands excellence! The future is filled with change and challenge for all organizations. The
